    Digidata 1200 History
    The original Digidata 1200 digitizer was designed to run pCLAMP 6 acquisition under DOS and was also intended to work with MS Windows 3.1. However while developing AxoScope 1 for Windows we realized that the Digidata 1200 digitizer was not designed conservatively enough to handle the Windows operating system's unpredictable multitasking behavior. To acquire data reliably under Windows, the Digidata 1200 design was updated to become the Digidata 1200A. Unfortunately the design changes were extensive enough that the original Digidata 1200 board cannot be modified to become a 1200A. Later, to earn the CE mark for sale in Europe, the Digidata 1200A design was upgraded to the Digidata 1200B. The 1200A and 1200B are functionally identical.
