1) They put an end to banging doors
because they catch the door slammed by hand, by a closing spring or by a gust of wind just before the “great bang” and then pull it quietly and safely to the completely closed position. For this reason they are ideal e.g. in hospitals, public buildings, offices and many other buildings where the doors should stay open according to the requirements but not bang shut. Furthermore, the door checks have been approved for fire protection doors with spring hinges. Their banging when closing often can be heard in the whole building. But door checks also offer the solution in very sensible areas where every shaking may damage precious equipment, e.g. in research laboratories.
2) They make sure doors are completely closed
Thus they contribute to more energy efficiency and safety.
