Description
NEW CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC, CR1000M WIRING PANEL COMES WITH NL120 ETHERNET MODULE.The CR1000M must be connected to a CR1000WP to function as a complete CR1000 datalogger. It may be purchased separately to replace a lost or damaged module. The CR1000M measures sensors, drives direct communications and telecommunications, reduces data, controls external devices, and stores data and programs in on-board, non-volatile storage. The electronics are RF shielded and glitch protected by the sealed, stainless steel canister. A battery-backed clock assures accurate timekeeping.
The CR1000M can simultaneously provide measurement and communication functions. The on-board, BASIC-like programming language supports data processing and analysis routines.
Originally, the CR1000M had 2 Mbytes of data/program storage, and another product, the CR1000M-4M, was offered that had 4 Mbytes of memory. In September 2007, the standard CR1000M started having 4 Mbytes of memory, making the CR1000M-4M obsolete. Modules with a serial number greater than or equal to 11832 will have a 4 Mbyte memory. The 4 Mbyte modules will also have a sticker on the canister stating "4M Memory".
The NL120 uses a straight through cable when the cable is run from a hub to the NL120. A 10baseT Ethernet crossover cable is used if the cable is run directly from the computer to the NL120. For cable lengths longer than 9 feet, either a shielded 10baseT Ethernet cable or the 28033 surge protector needs to be used.
The NL120 is set up using the Device Configuration utility (DevConfig). DevConfig is bundled with our PC400, RTDAQ, and LoggerNet software and is available, at no charge, from: www.campbellsci.com/downloads
Ethernet Cable
A 10baseT Ethernet straight through cable is used when the cable is run from a hub to the NL120. A 10baseT Ethernet crossover cable is used if the cable is run directly from the computer to the NL120. For cable length longer than 9 ft, the 10baseT Ethernet cable must be shielded or the 28033 surge suppressor must be used.
Data Logger Considerations
The NL120 fastens onto the data logger's 40-pin peripheral port. This means that the NL120 is only compatible with the CR1000 and CR3000. It is NOT compatible with the CR800, CR850, CR200X, CR5000, or CR9000X dataloggers
